It might be part of a broader trend towards the "de-commoditization" of the cabin and air passenger experience or maybe is the general public becoming more "aircraft-literate" and starting to care a bit more about the type of aircraft they are flying...

I was back in Toulouse, almost a year to date after my last visit to the A380 final assembly line. Besides getting to know the amazing Beluga aircraft, I got to know a few aspects of the A380 programme that escaped me last time.

Even if at risk of starting to look too much of a KLM fan-boy, I can't resist writing about the Dutch airline's latest marketing stunt, particularly as it involves an aircraft type that really fascinates me:  the MD-11.

The official presentation of the much-talked-about Aeroflot future low-cost subsidiary finally took place.

Most of what was unveiled at the press conference had already been anticipated in our blog post of 24th September about Aeroflot's plans for its low cost carrier, but some new details emerged, such as the initial fleet, made of 8 Boeing 737-800NG (Aeroflot has currently 25 of them on order), that is expected to keep growing by 8 additional aircraft per year, at least in the coming years.

Of all aviation-related apps, I am really fascinated by flight tracking ones! Curiously enough it is not just avgeeks that use them these days: I have seen friends otherwise not particularly interested in aviation using them, "because they are cool".  But how do flight tracking apps work? Who is behind the system that lets you monitor in real time most of commercial aircraft that are up in the air at any given time? 

Yet another article about Iberia! But, believe me, there is a good reason for this: as you might already be aware of, the Spanish flag carrier is unveiling its new branding on 15th October, so I had a look at Iberia's online channels to see how they were doing on this front...There is little doubt that Iberia needs to redefine itself to remain competitive and overcome the negative effect of economic recession at home...and in this regard, if their website is an appetizer of the changes that are coming, I got quite a positive impression.
