KLM uses one of its MD-11s for cinema sessions
Even if at risk of starting to look too much of a KLM fan-boy, I can't resist writing about the Dutch airline's latest marketing stunt, particularly as it involves an aircraft type that really fascinates me: the MD-11.
Dobrolet (Добролёт), Aeroflot's new low cost airline, unveiled
The official presentation of the much-talked-about Aeroflot future low-cost subsidiary finally took place.
Most of what was unveiled at the press conference had already been anticipated in our blog post of 24th September about Aeroflot's plans for its low cost carrier, but some new details emerged, such as the initial fleet, made of 8 Boeing 737-800NG (Aeroflot has currently 25 of them on order), that is expected to keep growing by 8 additional aircraft per year, at least in the coming years.

There seems to be growing anguish in the Spanish capital over its future as an airline hub and the effect any change in this direction would have for the local economy
Spain's empty airports saga: the battle for Murcia airport
One of the most visible signs of Spain's infrastructure overinvestment of the past few decades is the existence of many underused or empty airports all over the Spanish territory. This matter is taking a new twist though, as regional authorities in the Murcia region, in Southeastern Spain have moved to take control of the local airport,
UTAir An-74s or how is it like to land an airliner on drifting ice
A few days ago Wired published a story about Air New Zealand preparing to re-start airliner flights to Anctarctica in one of its Boeing 767s. This would not be the first time the Kiwi airline has Anctarctica in its route map...
