New podcast episode: with Alex Lungu, CEO of Wingbits

Alex Lungu is the CEO of Wingbits, a Swedish VC-backed startup that is approaching flight tracking from a fresh angle.

Flight tracking is an industry in which powerful network economies operate, so Wingbits is challenging the established order by taking a different route: prioritizing coverage quality over quantity and building in a number of financial rewards and incentives into the data collection system.

The result has been huge growth over the last three years, with the number of deployed stations now surpassing 6,000, which means extensive coverage over large areas of the world.

Besides the fancy maps, flight tracking is essentially a data business, with numerous companies and individuals tapping flight data for a variety of reasons.

Wingbits understands this and is developing its platform with the data user at its core.

How are they doing it? You will need to listen to this week’s episode of the podcast with Alex Lungu, CEO of Wingbits!
