Wisk, ZeroAvia & interesting aviation events (The Allplane Newsletter #102)
This week, the World Aviation Festival took place in Amsterdam, gathering a large cross-section of the airline and air travel industry. It was a fruitful event from which I got lots of inspiration and ideas for new posts and podcasts. What’s more, I am very glad to see in person events are back!

Electric Aviation
Heart Aerospace’s CEO, Anders Forslund, was on the EVolution Show, a Swedish youtube channel (in English) about electrically-powered transportation. On this two-part conversation, the sustainable aviation entrepreneur shared some details of the new ES-30 electric airliner. Here are the two videos:
French electric aircraft startup AURA Aero has announced the singing of Letters of Intent (LOI) for 130 of its aircraft from nine airlines in Europe, Africa and Brazil. LINK.
Advanced Air Mobility
Wisk unveiled its latest iteration, the Generation 6, 4-seater aircraft. While technically more challenging than other projects, it Wisk manages to pul this one out, its autonomous flight tech will give it an enormous advantage in the market. LINK.

Volocopter has been conducting eVTOL tests at an ad-hoc vertiport set up at Fiumicino airport, in Rome. The goal of launching services between this airport and the center of Rome in 2024 remains perhaps a tad ambitious. LINK.
Joby and Skyports will be testing (and showcasing in different cities!) the so called “Living Lab”, which is a sort of vertiport prototype that aims to bring. “zero waiting” experience to travelers. It will be interesting to see for real. LINK.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
Is there going to be enough feedstock to make SAF for everyone? A study by Royal NLR and Delft University of Technology raises the alarm. LINK.
Hydrogen Aviation
ZeroAvia has acquired HyPoint, a developer of hydrogen fuel cell systems. LINK.

Air Tahiti Nui started flights to Seattle, establishing a rather interesting link between the north and south Pacific. LINK.
Hawaiian Airlines is celebrating its 93rd anniversary by flying a Bellanca CH-300 Pacemaker vintage aircraft around its home islands. LINK.
KLM has presented its #103 Delft Blue House, this time with a tropical touch:
