New podcast episode: flying from Alaska to Siberia with Jeff Geer and Craig Land

1942, the World is at war…and in a remote region that straddles Alaska and far-flung bits of Siberia, a busy air corridor is set up to supply the Soviet front lines with massive amounts of American war material. It is the ALSIB route (named for Alaska-Siberia)

This is a little known episode of WW2 that two American aviation enthusiasts have set to bring back to the fore. Following the success of earlier ALSIB expeditions in 2013 and 2015 that recreated some bits of the old supply route, ALSIB 2020 should have seen Jeff and Craig flying all along this itinerary while filming a documentary along the way.

Covid-19 has put this plans in the freezer, for now, but the ALSIB project is alive and kicking and its promoters expect to be able to take off, literally, in a few months time.

Check out our conversation about this very unique aviation project.
