Northern Pacific Airways offers glimpse of cabin

Northern Pacific Airways has unveiled some additional details of its future passenger cabin as its aircraft undergo the typical MRO/refitting procedures before entering service.

This is a startup airline that I follow with much interest, since I had the chance to get acquainted with the project and some of those involved in it from a very early stage.

I had already got a glimpse of the outside of the aircraft at a presentation earlier this year in San Bernardino, California. And, although, we did not get in the cabin back then, we could learn some details about the seats and type of product they are planning to offer.

As you can seen in the pics, the aesthetics match those of the exterior, with the use of black and grey tones for a touch of elegance and a premium feel, even if it is going to be positioned, if not as a typical low cost, at least as a good value product that offers an alternative to the incumbent carriers on the US to Asia market.

To learn more about this project, I suggest you check our chronicle from the first aircraft unveiling as well as the podcast with the designer that led the creative aspects of this project, Edmond Huot.

Bonus track, long ago we did as well another podcast with the founders of ACLA Studio, a boutique design house that has participated also in the definition of elements of the cabin experience and the seating.

Now, the original rollout plan - flying to Asia from the continental US via Alaska - may be delayed a little bit because some countries in that region are still keeping quite a few restrictions on inbound travel, so it’s been reported that Northern Pacific may start by flying some routes to Mexico in the short term.
