New podcast episode: using blockchain to securitize engine leases
The leasing industry plays an essential role in aviation, whether it’s engines or aircraft that are being leased, many airlines could not launch or expand without it.
This is a market that requires large amounts of capital and is usually out of bounds, directly at least, to most retail investors.
But blockchain technology may be able to change this. A Florida-based company called Forum Markets (previously known as ETHZilla), has started to use blockchain technology to turn aircraft engine leases, with the regular cash-flows they generate, into asset-backed securities which can be acquired for as little of $1,000.
John Kristoff and Max Van der Griend have come to the podcast to explain how this Ethereum-based blockchain technology works and why the believe this is a game changer in the engine financing space. Are tradable tokens the future of aircraft and engine finance?
Tune in for a fascinating conversation at the intersection of aviation technology and finance!
