New podcast episode with Charles Everett, Director of Aviation at the Port Authority of NY and NJ
New York City, the financial capital of the world and the largest city in the US, is served by an airport system which last year handled over 144 million passengers.
And managing all those airports is the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a centenary bi-state public organization that manages also ports, tunnels and motorways.ç
New York’s airports, however, form a rather complex system, in which some of its components had already started to show their age.
This is why, in order to bring New York’s airports back to the top of the world leagues, this last decade the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has been implementing a massive $ 30 billion airport redevelopment program at the city’s three main air gateways: JFK, La Guardia (LGA) and Newark-Liberty (EWR).
On this episode of the podcast, Charles Everett, Director of Aviation at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, shares some insights about these truly ambitious reconstruction projects, that will expand the airport system’s capacity and upgrade significantly the passenger experience in years to come.
With Charles we also talk about the challenges of New York’s airports and how they are preparing to become more sustainable and welcome the eVTOL revolution.
