Lufthansa Allegris cabin comes with new amenity kits too

Early in 2023 Lufthansa presented its new Allegris long-haul cabin, which encompasses all four classes of service (First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy).

The unveiling event, which took place at Kraftwerk, a former industrial site in the heart if Berlin, was also an opportunity to listen to Lufthansa Airlines’ CEO, Jens Ritter, explain the logic and concepts behind this massive product and passenger experience redesign.

I covered the fundamental features of the new Lufthansa Allegris cabin in this article for AeroTime, but there’s an aspect that I would like to delve further on.

This is Lufthansa’s new First Class suite, the flagship product on the Allegris cabin, but this is not the thingI wished to talk about today!

Amenity kits for the Lufthansa Allegris cabin

Amenity kits are often sidelined in the great narrative of things. They are sometimes either taken for granted or considered a minor detail next to other elements of the passenger experience such as the seat or the food served onboard (not always, though! Etihad, for example, made a big media splash with its new Armani/Casa service set).

There is one aspect of amenity kits, though, that make them an interesting platform for airlines to associate their product to other non-aeronautical brands, such as fashion houses, or to become creative in what they offer.

Although I am by no means expert in the fashion and style aspect of things, at the Berlin event I had the chance to spend some time talking with the person in charge of managing the amenity kit experience at Lufthansa and I must say it was a truly interesting and enlightening experience.

She showed me around the different amenity kit sets that, within the framework of the Allegris cabin launch, have been designed for each of the four product classes you can find onboard Lufthansa’s long-haul aircraft.

Let’s start by First Class (pictures above and below). The sleeping set is really something. The slippers, in particular, are extremely soft despite their very robust appearance. The slippers’ name “Cumuli” is a reference to them being so soft and comfy that “wearing them feels like walking in the clouds” (I had the chance to touch them and I must say the name really does them justice!).

By the way, this is the new Pyjama Top for First Class passengers. This pyjama is already being distributed onboard Lufthansa’s flights.

Next comes, of course, Business Class, and here the offering is also quite impressive:

This, is for example, part of what Business Class passengers will get. The sleepshirt is only for very long night flights  with a flight time longer than 10h 30min.

This pillow and blanket are only available on Business Class.

And here are the pillow and blanket for Economy Class. On Premium Economy it is the same, but with a slightly different light grey colour.

But there’s more, because Lufthansa has also special amenity kits for both Oktoberfest and Christmas!

Here you can see the Oktoberfest amenity kit for Premium Economy class, which includes an Eco Porsche Design Shoe bag.

The Oktoberfest amenity kit will be available to passengers on First, Business and Premium Economy Classes on long-haul flights departing Germany (those departing from Munich, of course, as it is fitting to an Oktoberfest-themed product, but also those from Frankfurt) and only for a limited period of time (from 1 to 30 September 2023)

The Oktoberfest kit is a limited edition special amenity kit created for all of Lufthansa’s premium cabins.

There is also an Allegris Christmas amenity kit, which will be available on flights departing Germany between December 1st and 26th, 2023, on First, Business (pictured) and Premium Economy Class. Each of them will have its own size and contents.
