New podcast episode with Jimmy Samartzis, CEO of LanzaJet
Jimmy Samartzis is the CEO of one of the most prominent companies in the emerging sustainable aviation fuel ecosystem.
LanzaJet is the aviation-focused spin-off of LanzaTech, a firm that is producing biofuels from a number of different feedstocks, including several sorts of waste materials.
In this episode I chat with Jimmy about LanzaJet’s ambitious plans to help accelerate the decarbonization of the aviation industry through the scaling up of SAF production. In this regard, LanzaJet is already preparing to kick-start and expand SAF production at several locations in the US, Europe and Asia, with the backing of major corporations such as Shell, Suncor, Mitsui, Microsoft and British Airways, as well as Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy fund.
We also talk about the Alcohol-to-Jet production system that LanzaJet is focusing its efforts on and how it offers the capability to expand production and leverage existing supply chains. The electrification of road vehicle fleets around the world should free up lots of capacity that could then be diverted to an aviation industry that is thirsty for more SAF.
So, tune in for an in-depth conversation with one of the leading voices in the sustainable aviation fuel scene!
