The grounding of so many airliners due to the Covid-19 pandemic has been particularly noticed at places like Teruel, Spain.

This is an airport that I had the chance to visit some time ago, when I published this piece on CNN

Aircraft storage has again become a hot topic, due to the grounding of airliner fleets worldwide. Teruel airport, in particular, has see a huge spike in activity. Major airlines such as Air France and Lufthansa have sent dozens of aircraft to the Spanish storage site, including several Airbus A380s and quite a few A340s.

So, I revisited the topic for CNN, focusing what the situation is at the moment and why this spot is such a favourite among airlines when they need to ground their aircraft.
