H55 gets 20 Million to further develop electric aviation
We didn’t have the chance to speak about it on the latest podcast episode, which counted H55’s founder, André Borschberg as a guest, but almost as soon as we publised it, this Swiss green aviation start up announced it has just closed a CHF20 Million ($22M) funding round to continue developing its proprietary electric propulsion system.
Two American venture capital firms, +ND Capital and Tippet Venture Partners, plus the Swiss Canton of Valais (H55 is located in the city of Sion, in the middle of a broad Alpine valley) are behind this round. Next big goal for H55, which has already been test flying a Czech-made BRM Bristell aircraft fitted with its technology, will be to obtain the EASA certification next year.
If you wish to learn more about H55 and its vision for the future of green flying, do not miss the said podcast episode with André Borschberg, of Solar Impulse and, now, H55 fame!
