New pics & video of last Tu-154 commercial flight

In case you missed it, a few days ago we covered the last commercial flight of a Tupolev Tu-154 in Russia, operated by Alrosa.

Well, I thought it worth revisiting this topic, because Russian mathematician and aviation enthusiast Maria Karmanova (who was a guest on podcast #20 explaining her work restoring a former Aeroflot Tu-104 aircraft), happened to be on that flight and has sent me some amazing pictures and footage!

This very last Tu-154 flight, between the Siberian cities of Mirniy and Novosibirsk, also included a low pass over Mirniy’s giant open pit mine! (which you can easily see in the images!) Because…how often you do a low pass over the world’s largest open pit diamond mine?
