TAP launches new special livery: Portugal Stopover

TAP Portugal Stopover

While the images of TAP Portugal's retro jet were still fresh, the Portuguese flag carrier has been back at it!

Just fresh from the paint shop, the new special livery - as in the case of the retro jet painted on an Airbus A330 - celebrates the first anniversary of the Portugal Stopover programme.

Through the Portugal Stopover initiative, TAP encourages and facilitates that transit passengers turn their stopover into a two or three day stay in Portugal.  A number of establishments (shops, restaurants, etc) have joined in offering discounts to travelers taking part in the programme.

Although I have not taken part in the programme itself, having spent a few days in Portugal recently, all I can say is that even the three day stay may prove to be too short! - this is possibly the reason that TAP is adding a 5-day stopover to its programme and is extending it to parts of the country further away from Lisbon, such as Madeira (a wonderful island I visited a few weeks ago courtesy of TAP), the Azores or the southern region of Algarve.
