On CNN: How Lufthansa restores its historical fleet

While airline generally strive to have new, state-of-the-art, fleets, there are some exceptions to this rule.

Vintage aircraft have also their appeal and this is something Lufthansa has understood perfectly well. 

At at time when most European flag carriers are approaching rather venerable ages (KLM will become a centenary in a couple year's time!), Lufthansa stand out in its commitment to preserving its historical heritage.

And this does not just mean keeping aircraft in a museum, but investing to keep some oldies in flying condition.

In this article for CNN I explain how the German airline is adding a Super Constellation (practically re-built in the inside) to its Junkers Ju-52 (not Lufthansa's but this is how it feels like to fly on a Ju-52) and it has also participated in the recovery of a historical Boeing 737-200, this one for static display only.
