The Allplane Podcast #40 - is executive aviation sustainable? with Adam Twidell & Kennedy Ricci

Can executive aviation be ever truly sustainable?

Adam Twidell (PrivateFly)

Adam Twidell (PrivateFly)

Our two guests on this episode don’t shy away from this question and, while admitting the industry has homework to do, they respond with a resounding yes.

This is not the first time Adam Twidell, founder and CEO of PrivateFly, a truly forward-looking executive aviation broker, is on this podcast. This time he is joined by Kennedy Ricci is the founder and CEO of 4Air, a startup that helps aviation firms engage emissions offset and reduction programmes.

Adam will explain how PrivateFly is working together with 4Air to offset up to 300% of its emissions and is committed to continue investing in mitigating the environmental impact of the flights it brokers.

Kennedy Ricci (4Air.aero)

Kennedy Ricci (4Air.aero)

Kennedy, in turn, explains how 4Air’s system of tiers works and how firms can move up the ladder by committing to increasingly stringent measures…

We also talk about how new propulsion technologies may impact the executive aviation industry.

Some interesting thoughts came up: can executive aviation act as an early-adoption vector for many of the new green technologies being developed? The example of the electric car industry comes to mind. Also, what if the proliferation of new electrically-powered small aircraft actually blurred the barriers between executive and mainstream air travel?

Along the way we also learned about the relation between private jets and bitcoin, with Adam sharing some staggering figures in this regard.

Tune in to today’s episode for a conversation with two very interesting entrepreneurs that are leading the sustainability debate in the field of executive aviation.
