New podcast episode with Shashank Nigam of Simpliflying & Sustainability in the Air
I had long wanted to do a podcast with fellow aviation sustainability podcaster Shashank Nigam and the release of the second volume of the book he co-authored with Dirk Singer, Sustainability in the Air, looked liked the perfect opportunity to do so.
Shashank has been active in the airline industry for over a decade in a half. He is the founder of Simpliflying, one of the first digital resources to track developments in airline marketing, and, in the last few years it has also emerged as a reference in the field of aviation sustainability through the launch of the Sustainability in the Air podcast and the publication of the two books of the same name covering developments in this space.
So, as the green aviation industry appears to be facing headwinds as a result of a shifting geopolitical and financial environment, it’s reassuring to listen to Shashank speak about how sustainability in aviation should be understood as a marathon, rather than a sprint.
His recent book is a good starting point to get a glimpse of how an entire industrial ecosystem is assembling around the idea of making air travel cleaner and greener.
We won’t make any spoilers here, instead we talk with Shashank about what he and his co-author, Dirk, have noticed in these past two years in which they have been talking to sustainable aviation entrepreneurs and industry leaders as they move from experimentation to execution, from the domain of ideas to the realities of the market.
Is there a future for sustainable aviation? Check it out!
