New podcast episode: Ivar Aune (Sirinor) on how to build an electric jet engine
An electric jet engine? Yes, that’s right!
In this podcast episode, Ivar Aune, CEO and chairman of the board of SiriNor is going to explain how to build an electric jet engine which could, potentially, one day, be capable of powering aircraft the size of an Airbus A320 or a Boeing 737.
We are not talking science-fiction here. SiriNor, a Norwegian-Indian startup, has already tested successfully one such engine on the ground and aims to have a market-ready, certified model for the UAV market within a couple of years.
What’s more, this electric jet engine could also be much cheaper to operate and easier to build than a conventional one. Ivar calls it “the cool revolution”, because by doing away with the complexities of handling the very high-temperatures that take place inside in a combustion engine, lots of processes and even the materials, become much more simple.
Although it’s been working on its electric jet engine for quite a few years, SiriNor has intentionally remained under the radar…until now!
Join us for a fascinating conversation about a rather unusual, but rather promising approach to the electrification of the aviation industry!
