A visit to The Flying Bulls, on The Points Guy
World-famous energy drink brand Red Bull manages one of the most fascinating, eclectic air fleets in the world.
Based in its hometown of Salzburg, Austria, the Flying Bulls, as the aeronautical arm of the firm is known, operate more than 40 aircraft of all sorts and types.
From WW2 fighters to modern executive jets, the collection is worth of the best aerospace museums…but all the aircraft are airworthy and, in fact, constantly on the move attending air shows all over the world.
What’s more, they are housed in a contemporary exhibition space, Hangar-7, which is open to the public as a sort of theme park for the Red Bull brand.
This summer I had the chance to visit Hangar-7 and get also exclusive access to non-public areas, such as the adjacent Hangar-8, which is where the Flying Bulls maintain their aircraft and restore those airframes they wish to add to their ever growing “air force”.
What follows is a my chronicle for The Points Guy from the Flying Bulls’ lair.
