The civilian Hercules, on The Points Guy

 

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is, without a hint of doubt, one of the most versatile and reliable aircraft ever built. Suffices to say that it first flew in 1954 and, at the time of writing these lines, in 2022, it is still going strong.

Its latest military iteration, the C-130J Super Hercules is still in production, but so does its lesser known civilian version.

Commercial operators operators that fly in difficult and unforgiving environments, such as the Arctic or the jungles of Africa, certainly appreciate the capabilities of the “SuperHerc”.
