Airbus has partnered Spirit AeroSystems to make the wings of its CityAirbus NextGen eVTOL. The manufacturing location is going to be Belfast, in Northern Ireland. LINK.
Universal Hydrogen has selected a site near Albuquerque, New Mexico, to manufacture its capsules and retrofit kits. Production may start already in 2024. LINK.
Kenya Airways may start testing eVTOLs in 2025. Fahari Aviation, a subsidiary of the African carrier has partnered with Embraer’s EVE. LINK.
LanzaTech, the parent company of sustainable aviation fuel producer LanzaJet, is going public through a $2.2B SPAC. LINK.
The Dutch government commissioned a study about the potential of electric aircraft on certain routes, such as those connecting the Dutch Caribbean territories between themselves. The conclusions seem to be encouraging, provided a number of investments are made. The study is in Dutch, but Tony Harrington wrote a nice summary for Greenairnews. LINK.
NetJets is going to get 150 Lilium eVTOLs, apparently to provide service in Florida. The German manufacturer had already reached a similar agreement earlier with Luxembourg-based executive jet operator Luxaviation. LINK.
Volocopter raised an additional $170M (bringing the total of successive funding rounds at $579). This E round values the German eVTOL maker at $1.7B. The investor is WP Investment, of Korea, which will also help Volocopter get established in that country. LINK.
