Boeing is purchasing 2M gallons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from Epic Fuels for use at its own facilities, that is its in-house cargo operations (Dreamlifter flights) and delivery flights for its customers. LINK.

This first half of 2022, Virgin Atlantic is sourcing 2.5M litres of sustainable aviation fuel from Neste (via Exxon Mobil, which is the airline’s supplier at London Heathrow). LINK.

In a very similar move, Singapore Airlines is sourcing 1.25M liters of SAF from Neste (the Finnish company will soon open a large refinery in the city-state) via Exxon MobilLINK.

Renewable energy firm Ørsted is bringing forward by two years (to 2025) its project to produce e-fuels in Denmark, with aviation being one of the major applications of the 'Green Fuels for Denmark' intiative. LINK.

magniX will collaborate with Brazilian aircraft maker Desaer to develop a hybrid-electric variant of the future Desaer ATL-100 aircraft, an aircraft programme with Portuguese participation that I must confess I didn’t know about. LINK.

Italian aerospace company Leonardo will work together with Vertical Aerospace to make the fuselage of the VX-4 eVTOL (a model that has received numerous orders already from around the world). LINK.

Joby is partnering with SK Telecom, South Korea’s leading telecoms operator, in order to take its eVTOL concept to the country, with the idea to launch, eventually, ride sharing services. LINK.

…and also Joby has started FAA conformity testing procedures, designed to confirm the material strength of the composites used in the airframe. LINK.
