Flight Review: Swiss Economy Class (A320)
A few months ago I had the chance to review and write my flight report about Swiss business class, notw it's the turn of reviewing economy on exactly the same route, Moscow to Zurich.
Flight #: LX1325
From: Moscow Domodedovo (DME)
To: Zurich Kloten (ZRH)
Flight time: 3.5h approx.
Aircraft: Airbus A320
The first thing to remark is that there are, in fact, not many cabin differences between business and economy on Swiss European flights. And, while this may not sound very flattering to Swiss business class, to be fair it must be said that it is priced very competitively and with last-minute upsells in mind (after all better a business class you can afford, even if ocasionally, than no business class at all!)
While the flight itself was rather uneventful when it comes to service on-board, one of the things that caught my eye is the fresh design of the breakfast tray. It is not just aesthetically pleasing, but the design is great for the limited space you have on an economy class seat.
For example, see the way food fits in the different containers, while remaining always within the confines of the box, so it does not spill over and you do not make a mess of yours (and potentially your neighbours) tray. The box itself has a touch of minimalism that reminds me a bit of Japanese bento boxes. I hope to see more of this on other airlines!
Not only the design, the food itself was quite tasty, particularly the pie on the green carboard box!
Our Take:
Great value (maybe better value than business class actually). The in-flight food presentation really made my day!
