AirAsia X soon to fly to Barcelona & Istanbul?

Through a tip fom Aerobarcelona I learn that AirAsia X has updated its route map and flight programme (as shown by sources that track the airline's programming changes) to include Barcelona and Istanbul.

To be clear, there is neither an official confirmation yet of any such route being launched, not is it possible to book flights on it, but, by any measure, this is a powerful hint.

If we are to judge by the way the info in the map, this Autumn the Malaysian long-haul low cost carrier may start flying between Kuala Lumpur and Barcelona via Istanbul.

This would represent AirAsiaX European comeback after it dropped its flights to Paris and London in 2102 quoting adverse market conditions.

Will it work this time?
