What is going on in the low cost airline world and can we expect in the near future?

As the low cost airlines industry reaches adulthood, some things are also changing. Perhaps the most noticeable aspect of this transformation is that budget airlines have been flexible enough to drop some of the dogmas of the industry without hurting their cost advantage.

But the airline industry as a whole is converging towards a sort of middle-ground, where level of service and fares depend not that much on the airline itself, but on the bundle of services the passenger chooses.

And then, there is of course, the long awaited emergence of the long haul low cost airline...but I leave it here, you've better read my article on CNN!
