Gift wrapped airliner turns up in Australia
Every Christmas airlines all over the World get in a festive mood: from Iberia's Christmas livery to Air Berlin's "Flying Home for Christmas" aircraft and WestJet "Magic of Christmas" one.
Come this time of the year, some airlines also "unbox" their new toys. A snowy Riga, that looked like straight out of a Christmas Winter Wonderland, served as a background for airBaltic to present its brand new Bombardier CS300. Last year it was KLM that unboxed its shiny new Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
But when it comes to unwrapping Christmas presents, nothing like this0 Alliance Airlines Fokker 70.
The weather was not exactly Christmasy at the airport, as Alliance Airlines is based in Brisbane, in the tropical part of Australia, but this stunt, that is part of a charity campaign, merits this year-s top spot when it comes to airline Christmas initiatives!
BTW, it was a total coincidence that the wrapped airliner, a Fokker 70, is of the same Fokker 100 family that features in our previous story The last Flight of the Fokker!
