I covered the launch of new airlines in this blog before,  but this time is special, because this is an airline project with which I have had the change to collaborate professionally.

Dobrolet (Добролёт in Russian), the new Russian low cost airline, had its first commercial flight last Tuesday. The launch had been preceded by quite a lot of public expectation and, actually, a large percentage of the available tickets were sold, literally, within hours of the airline's website opening for business just a week earlier.

In this photo-gallery there are some pictures of the launch event, that was attended by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
