Canadian airline WestJet and the magic of Christmas
If Air Berlin has decorated a Boeing 737 in Christmas livery, Canadian airline WestJet has also gone the extra mile to keep its passengers in a festive mood during this pre-Christmas period.
In an initiative that was somehow reminiscent of Spanair's Christmas present surprise a couple of years ago, passengers flying to Calgary from Toronto and Hamilton, could express their wishes to a virtual Santa at the airport of deaprture...next, a coordinated logistical operation got underway, whereas a group of WestJet employees in Calgary got everything ready for the "WestJet Christmas Mriacle" to take place. Passengers were delighted to find personalized presents waiting for them at the luggage carousel.
But this is not the only "magic" initiative that WestJet has carried out at this time of the year: it has also decorated one of its Boeing 737s with this stunning Walt Disney livery.
It took 26 people 24 days of work to complete this masterpiece (See the video below for a, considerably shorter, time-lapse view of the whole painting process).
But the joyful, festive atmosphere is not only to be found on the outside, the "Magic Plane's" cabin interior has alsow been decorated with "Magic Kingdom" motives, as will the cookies that wil be served on-board!
