On CNN: Clip-Air, a futuristic modular aircraft

We live in an inter-modal World.

The complex logistic chains that all modern economies rely on are based on the principle of inter-modality and the easy transfer of cargoes between sea, rail, road and air transport, thanks to the humble container.

But, passenger air travel has somehow kept outside of this. A group of researchers at the Federal Polytechnic Institute in Lausanne, Switzerland, are working to change this.

Clip-Air is a modular aircraft concept that can change some of the pre-conceptions we have about air travel.
