Flight Report - Swiss European Business Class

swiss business class breakfast

Just sharing some some pics that I took during my latest flight on Swiss business class.

The flight in question was LX1325, from Moscow Domodedovo to Zurich.

Some 3.5h up in the air on an Airbus A320-200 (HB-IJJ).

This side of the terminal at Domodedovo is where Star Alliance carriers usually come to dock - both Lufthansa and Swiss have several flights a day to the Russian capital from their hubs.

The Swiss lounge at DME is to the right side of the picture above. It is a rather small lounge, where you can get some basic refreshments and Swiss and Russian newspapers and fast wi-fi, nothing exceptional, but it is located just next to the boarding gates, which is convenient to make the most of your time before boarding.

Food and service is, indeed, better than in economy - I had already grab some appettizers at the lounge, so I declined the warm breakfast - croissants were excellent, though, and best of all was the cheese, served in a slate plate

And we area already at Kloten airport!

I would say the overall experience was pretty good, although far from exceptional.

This is to be expected in aircraft equipped for intra-European flights and Moscow-Zurich is still within the umbrella of short-haul operations. However, it is still quite a long flight and one where those used to more exuberant business class products may start to feel its limitations.

In favour of Swiss, it must be said, though, that its business class product is very competitively priced and it is smartly marketed together with the airline's different branded fares - so it can be quite an attractive proposition for those frequent flyers that are not yet regular business class travellers, but would welcome an upgraded experience when faced with the prospect of a 4-hour flight in economy.

And to close the post, here is a snap of the dinner they served on the return flight, which was a night flight. Everything was pretty tasty, including the Swiss wines that are a classic at Swiss.
