How to rate the airport experience?

After countless studies, rankings and analysis trying to determine how different airports compare to each other in terms of user satisfaction, Russian start-up Empatika, the company behind App in the Air and Airport Guru, has come up with an objective and interesting way to measure and visualize the traveler experience at different airports.

How they do it?

Empatika has a long experience in analyzing social media data and has developed its own proprietary technology that pulls all foursquare tips and tweets at or near airports, then analyze them and generate sentiment analysis diagrams for each airport, broken down into the different aspects that make the airport user experience.

The result is the sentiment map you can see below, that was presented at TechCrunch Disrupt 2102 in San Francisco (just click on the map to start playing with it!):
